Rationale: The purpose of this assignment is to encourage students to apply the contents of Chapter 17 and Chapter 6 included in Fundamentals of Speech Communication by answering a set of questions prepared for them to apply the theoretical knowledge learnt in the course into practical contents.
Instructions:
• Read all the activities included in the assessment.
• Answer the questions as completely and correctly as possible.
• Follow the indications given in order to avoid misunderstandings or losing marks unnecessarily.

1. Provide one example of the speaker’s appeal to PATHOS and discuss its effectiveness as a persuasive tool.
2. Think of another way to appeal to PATHOS that could be used in this speech. Give an example, using in-text citation, and suggest in which part of the speech you would include it. (Attention, Need, Satisfaction, Visualization, Action)
3. Provide one example of the speaker’s appeal to LOGOS and discuss its effectiveness as a persuasive tool.
